Editorial policy

Everything on this site is written for it. Nothing is copied from a product page or from anywhere else, and no customer review is reproduced. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.

Health claims

We do not write that a dried plant improves sleep, purifies air, relieves stress or refreshes the mind. Those sentences appear printed over photographs in this category, including some of our own, and we treat a sentence printed over a photograph as a picture rather than as evidence.

Sources

Where a page touches health, animals or preservation, it cites a public body and prints the date we read the page. Every source was opened and read before the sentence beside it was written, and the sentence was written to the source rather than the source hunted to fit a sentence.

Those sources say inconvenient things and we print those too. Eucalyptus and lavender are on the ASPCA toxic list for cats, dogs and horses. The NIH says the research behind aromatherapy for insomnia is thin. Conservation guidance says light damage is permanent, which means every bundle we sell is on a one way trip.

What we do not do

We do not invent founding dates, farms, staff or certifications. We do not write testimonials. We do not describe a bundle as suitable for a use it was not made for, and where a public body draws a line we print the line rather than working around it.
